Choosing your bedding

Sateen or percale?

Sateen is woven so that more thread lies on the surface, which gives it a smooth, lightly lustrous face and a fluid drape. Percale is a tight plain weave with a matte finish and a crisp, cool hand that softens with every wash. Both are 100% cotton at a 300 thread count, so the choice is about feel rather than quality.

Which size do I need?

Duvet covers are named by the size of the cover, fitted sheets by the size of your mattress. That is a meaningful difference, so it pays to check before ordering.
